‘Moving in and out’ would be one way to describe me. Ever
since college days ended way back in 2008, I have been a nomad trying to find
the perfect spot to settle down. Here I am, packing my bags again and heading
for another journey hoping this time I would stay put for the next 3 years of
my work life. Having said my goodbyes to the beautiful place and people, every single day that I have lived through for the past couple of years
flashes before me like a slide show.
The place had been none other than the beautiful and ancient
town of Thrissur, known for the radiant marvels of temple architecture and the banks
on which arts, music and literature flourishes in Kerala. It is
just not the place that seems to impress me but the people and society as well. I have had my own complaints
about people’s attitude and how they can scrub your mental peace with their
no-sense talks. But something I realized is that, the thought
process which shapes a person also depends on the place they grow up. Because it
is here in Thrissur where I have come across the most brilliant minds and the
most endearing people who can stand up for their words and prove them with more
action than talk.
The last one and half years have been a mixed journey and a
chapter which I would always carry around. Mixed because it has been a long and
at times a tiring ride towards seeking some piece of balanced mind (I guess
that is called ‘inner peace’) and at the same time getting lucky to have met
some amazing people who can churn off those stiff muscles
on your face into a beaming smile. And the best advice I had received while
bidding my goodbyes was to always carry around the smiling face. Something
tells me I will be back very soon to this town.
